TROUBLE

So, this story takes place yesterday between 8:30am to 1:00pm. That morning Mike was so sweet to me. I was so tired that morning so he decided to let me sleep in while he got the kids up, fed and walked Mak and Roman (the dog) to the bus stop. When Mike and Roman came back I opened the back patio door so the dog could run in and out of the house. I had to leave the house before Mike that morning. He got ready for work and left the house. He also left the dog on the back patio, which we often do. That is Roman's favorite sleeping spot, I sometimes wonder if he's a cat with the amount of sun bathing he does. Anyways, when we leave the dog on the patio we close the door, well you see, my husband overlooked that small detail but says he closed it. Well, when I came home at noon I was greated at the door by my very cute puppy with his tail between his legs. OH MAN WAS HE IN TROUBLE!!!!! My couch cushions and pillows were on the floor, shredded paper was all over the house. He pooped outside (which is good) but he steppped in it and dragged it through the house. The trash was knocked over, thank goodness he couldn't get the lid off! He then made his way downstairs to the bedrooms. He took all the shoes off my bottom shoe rack, ripped towels off of the racks. My house was a wreck! I called my husband and boy did I let him have it! Then I called our friend Kelly, also our dog trainer, and made her take him (the dog not my husband)for the weekend. Now, I had to clean up the house!

THE SUSPECTS:

My questions to myself were: Why the heck did we get a dog?! and Why the heck did I get a husband!?

So then I started reminding myself of all the great things he does for me and all the reasons why I married him. He does a lot of great things for me and our fam.

He takes out the trashe
He gives me a back rub most every night
He tells me i'm beautiful every day
He feeds the kids breakfast every morning
He helps with dinner
He eats my food and tells me its great even if it's not
He unloads the dish washer
He bathes the kids 50% of the time
He is such an active father
He makes me laugh
He is so smart
He's honest (except about the back door)
He brings me lunch
He goes out of his way to show his love for me and not just tell me

He still denies leaving the door open although he has never admitted to closing it. And he didn't bring me an "I'm so sorry honey," present, like a card or flowers! But I still love him, and couldn't ask for a better husband and father to my kids.

On to the second question, "Why did we get a dog?" I'm still not sure.
He is cute
He is excited to see me every morning and when we come home
He's pretty funny
The list just isn't as long but I do love him too.

My mother has always said that men can not multi task and have one tracked minds. My husband loves me inspite of all my flaws (not that I have many) and I love him inspite of all of his flaws.

Mike,

I'm letting this one go even though "you checked the door." I love you and you make me so happy everyday. It wasn't funny yesterday but I'm already laughing about it. Like I said, you make me laugh. Thanks for being my Prince Charming and treating me like a princess.

Loves You,
The Babe

Bedtime Prayers

So, tonight we were saying prayers before bed and we noticed that Bentley started folding her arms. It is so sweet that my not even 12 month old is already learning to be reverent. Makayla and Perry are such good examples and I am so proud of them for the example that they are at home to me, Mike, Bentley, and that they are such a great example to their friends. We are so proud of them!

Ski Week

Here in the OC we have "ski week." It's a week off of school to go spend some time at the ski resorts. Well, with Mike working there was just no way that I could follow that trend with all three kids and the dog. So we took the kids to see Hotel for Dogs on monday.
Wednesday I braved Disneyland all by myself with all 3 kids. Mike always drives when we go and I never pay any attention to where we are going so it took me about 30 minutes to find the parking lot. The kids were so helpful, they pointed out every street sign just in case it was for the parking. We eventually made it to the tram which was quite the adventure in itself with 3 kids, a diaper bag, and a stroller. We worked up quite the appetite getting to Disneyland, so we got some lunch, then hit the rides. On the way out of the park we got a churro and then made the long trek out of the park to the car. The kids were so great, the waited patiently in line, didn't run off from me, and were so helpful with Bentley. I couldn't be more blessed to have these three as my children.
On Friday the kids had their very first horseback riding lessons. First the kids got to turn Teddy out and chase him around. Then they had to make him come to them and put on his halter. Then they learned how to groom him and put on his saddle. Then they finally go to ride. The kids rode a horse named Blue, who is a white Arabian mare with one eye. She is the sweetest Arabian I have ever met. Bentley was pulling her nose and smacking her and she didn't even care. The kids had so much fun and can not wait for their next lesson.
On Saturday we went to Santa Clarita to watch the start of the 7th stage of the Tour of California. We went and saw all of the tour busses and police cars and fire trucks that were there to. Perry got a tour of a fire truck, and then him and Dad checked out the Rock Racing Tour Bus. Perry thought it was very cool because it had skulls on it. After the start we headed to Pasadena to watch the finish. The kids complained that they didn't see the riders very much because they were to fast. Bentley waved and clapped everytime they ride by. She probably thought all of those people were there to see her though. She is such a little entertainer.

Chris Baldwin, Rock RacingToday we went to church and then came home and took naps to recover from our very busy week. We had so much fun this week but now its time for the kids to get back to school.

Vote for the Best Stimulus Plan

With the current political climate and questions about the economy, the following three candidates have proposed a stimulus package to improve our livelihoods.

Mak- Her package involves setting aside funds to improve the quality of life for butterflies and dolphins.  There is also an earmark to research the existence of fairies and leprechauns.

Perry- His plan calls for cutbacks in the defense of pirate attacks against the U.S.  He feels that pirates should be able to get more pirate treasure.  That treasure would then be infused into the local economies of their hometowns.

Bentley- Her plan is to focus on the the small people.  She feels that the smaller the company the better. She feels that large corporations get too much freedom to do what they want, and that the small businesses should be able to do what they want, when they want to.  She is by far the most vocal candidate.

Oh Perry! My Silly Little Man!

Today Perry started saying "I'm crazy about you Mom!" He always knows how to make me feel so good. He always tells me that I look so pretty. In the morning he says "Mom you have pretty crazy hair." After a good workout he says "Mom, you look so pretty and sweaty." And every Sunday morning he says "I like your dress Mom, you look so pretty." He sure does know how to make me feel good about myself.

The other night I was getting Perry in the bath and had locked me, all three kids, and Roman in the bathroom. Perry took off all his clothes to get in the tub and Roman thought it would be a good time to formally introduce himself to Perry by sniffing and nipping his little Perry. Perry grabbed himself and screamed "MOM! He's trying to bite my tail!" I've never seen my little boy so terrified in his life. I laughed for 10 minutes straight.

I love you Perry, you are such a joy to be around. Thank you for being so sweet to me and your sisters.

Huntington Beach 1/2 Marathon

This past Sunday we played church hooky to support the runner of the family.  We got there nice and early so that we could take the shuttle to the starting line, however the shuttles decided not to show up.  With 20 minutes to the start of her heat Moka took off for a 2.5 mile run/warmup to the starting line.  The kids and I were pretty excited to see her run so we took up some prime real estate close to the finish line and ended up not seeing her.  She was too fast.  She ended up finishing in the top 10% of her age group with a time of 2:03, including two bathroom breaks.  She is the BEST!  Good Job!  She has been sleeping ever since then.
