We recently completed the 2008 Tour de Beach/4th of July weekend. With just Bentley to tow around and to coincide with the Tour de France we decided to do a grand tour of three beaches down here in SoCal. To prepare for the Tour we loaded up with the following supplies:
1 Nissan Armada
2 Beach Chairs
3 Beach Towels
1 Cooler
1 Sunscreen
1 Sunscreen
4 Magazines
10 Bottles Water
4 Bottles10 Bottles Water
2 Books
10 Diapers
10 Diapers
1 Tent Shade
1 Can of Formula1 Baby Bouncer
3 Onesies
3 Onesies
Our training for the tour has consisted of map memorization, parallel parking training, and collecting quarters for parking.
Monarch Beach
Approx. 8 miles from the house
This was the most technical parking of the tour. We had to scout out a surfer returning from the beach and then draft behind them to their car and sprint to the finish.
This beach is a private beach and wasn't too crowded. This stage was a little overcast which prevented any pr's in the tanning department, but we had a good time.
Stage 2 Catalina Island
We took the Catalina Flyer from Newport Beach which is about an hour and a half ride and spent the day walking around Avalon and hanging out at the beach. We pushed pretty hard on the way home but we were one of the few that made it home without puking. Bentley decided to try her hand at swimming and didn't like it too much. There were a lot of foreign competitors on this stage. We had a secret weapon though because anytime they walked past us they stopped to say how cute Bentley was.
Stage 3
The Champs y'l Victoria Beach
We finished with a tour of Victoria beach, which is the beach right by our new house. We went for a little walk and finished at the Montage Resort. It was a good end to a grueling Tour.

Wow, that sounds like an awesome 4th of July! Let's see what we did... Stampede!! Okay so yeah, it wasn't that bad for us:)
Mike, really? You found Amy's blog and forgot to notice mine? I feel slightly offended except for the fact that I am not. I am excited to hear you are married though. I wondered how you were doing because it had been awhile since I had seen you. You have an adorable family and I am glad things are going great for you!
What a fun post, so creative. I am so jealous of you adventures even though they may take you awhile, Cali is paradise!
