EarThqUakE!!!

So yesterday at 11:24am we had a 5.4 earthquake. It was the biggest earthquake that so cal has seen in 14 years. It was the first one that Mike has felt since we've lived here and the third for me. He was actually very excited, I on the other hand was rather shaken. I was sitting in the hair salon in downtown Laguna, Bentley was sitting in her car seat at my feet. We quickly grabbed her and ran outside. She was very calming since she was so innocently playing with her feet and giggling as if it were an amusement park ride. She quickly brought a smile to everyone's face as soon as it was done. Everyone is fine. The only casualty was Mike's bobble head, Dwight from the office, at work that was thrown to the floor and then smashed by a pile of books. His head was severly severed. Services will be held for him in the next week.

Internet is up finally

Its taken me a while but we are finally all moved in and the internet is connected so now we can post blogs again. We've been pretty busy lately. Two weekends ago I raced in the Camp Pendleton International Triathlon. I finished in 3 hours and 10 minutes. It was a great experience and I can't wait to do the next one which is next weekend. This weekend we are going to San Fransisco for Moka's half marathon. It should be a fun trip. Over the past weekend we went to the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, Bentley likes surfing alot.

WE ARE IN!

We have finally moved into a house big enough to fit the whole crew. We have been carrying boxes for 3 days, and we just about have it all in the house now. Our new address is

2716 Solana Way
Laguna Beach, CA
92651

Right now Melissa and Megan are here for the weekend to hang out and help us move. If they are good we might let them go to the beach. Melissa is actually moving into our house and she is going to work for me starting next week. We are excited to have her here.

Tomorrow is my triathlon so I will post some pics of that tomorrow.

Wish me luck.

Crash!

Next week is my first Olympic distance triathlon, so this week I've been trying to get in as much training as possible. So Moka and I decided to go for a little ride during my lunch break. About 0 miles into our ride, a gust of wind, or a minor earthquake, or something caused Moka not so much to crash but to tip over still clipped into her pedals. It was a classic Moka crash.

Tour de Beach 2008

We recently completed the 2008 Tour de Beach/4th of July weekend. With just Bentley to tow around and to coincide with the Tour de France we decided to do a grand tour of three beaches down here in SoCal. To prepare for the Tour we loaded up with the following supplies:
1 Nissan Armada
2 Beach Chairs
3 Beach Towels
1 Cooler
1 Sunscreen
4 Magazines
10 Bottles Water
4 Bottles
2 Books
10 Diapers
1 Tent Shade
1 Can of Formula
1 Baby Bouncer
3 Onesies
Our training for the tour has consisted of map memorization, parallel parking training, and collecting quarters for parking.

Stage 1

Monarch Beach

Approx. 8 miles from the house

This was the most technical parking of the tour. We had to scout out a surfer returning from the beach and then draft behind them to their car and sprint to the finish.

This beach is a private beach and wasn't too crowded. This stage was a little overcast which prevented any pr's in the tanning department, but we had a good time.

Stage 2 Catalina Island

Approx. 30 miles from home

We took the Catalina Flyer from Newport Beach which is about an hour and a half ride and spent the day walking around Avalon and hanging out at the beach. We pushed pretty hard on the way home but we were one of the few that made it home without puking. Bentley decided to try her hand at swimming and didn't like it too much. There were a lot of foreign competitors on this stage. We had a secret weapon though because anytime they walked past us they stopped to say how cute Bentley was.

Stage 3

The Champs y'l Victoria Beach

We finished with a tour of Victoria beach, which is the beach right by our new house. We went for a little walk and finished at the Montage Resort. It was a good end to a grueling Tour.

We are hoping to improve on our times for next year. We are going to take a rest week and pack for the move and then we will be ready to roll.

Bentley's New Friend

This is Bentley's new best friend Hank. Hank is the son of Steve and Cailin. Steve works for me and Cailin is one of Moka's good friends. Last weekend Hank had a little run in with the pool and decided to go swimming. All of the wrinkles do not contribute to buoyancy and Hank sunk to the bottom, but Daddy Steve rescued him and all is well

We are actually going to blog now.

So we decided that we are going to try our best to keep our blog updated. Right now the house is pretty quiet, Mak and Perry are in Utah for the summer with their dad. So just Bentley is holding down the fort now. She is now almost 4 months old and time is flying by.

We are currently in the process of packing up our apartment because we are finally MOVING into our house. YAY for more space! Moka is in the process of training for the Long Beach Marathon in October, and I am training for an Olympic Tri in two weeks. Moka has stayed pretty busy washing our running and biking clothes. Moka just got a bike last weekend and is getting back in the groove of cycling.

Mak just finished kindergarten and did a great job. She also was an amazing performer in her dance recital. Perry is using the potty. His reward was an Indiana Jones whip, and now he gets to go to preschool so he is pretty excited. Only 1 baby to change now!
