Puppy Party

The kids were invited to a birthday party for their friend Abby Kimball, at Moulton Meadow Park. She had a puppy party and the kids had so much fun playing the puppies. It was a chilly day so all the puppies had tiny puppy blankets. Bentley was a little nervous around such small puppies. We kept having to tell her to be gentle since she is so used to having a giant 86lb puppy  around our house. The kids had a ton of fun playing with the puppies, then they got to stuff a puppy to take home and watch a magic show. The kids had a ton of fun and were wiped out when we got home.

Surprise Birthday Party

Mike turned 25 on May 30, and on the 29th I threw him a surprise party.  I would've thrown it on his birthday since it was on a Saturday but was having an incredibly hard time finding a way to get him out of the house so that I could get ready for it. Plan A:Greg was going to take him scuba diving but then he had to fly to Utah. Plan B: Dan was going to taking him riding but he had to work in San Diego. So with two friends out of town and not able to make the party or help me get him out of the house I decided to go for, Plan C: Friday night after work.  All plans were pretty complicated but Plan C was the hardest.
Mike always leaves work early on Fridays and gets home at about 6. Nobody could make it home from work and to our house before that which meant Greg had to stall him at work for an hour! That morning Greg asked if they could car pool and for some strange reason Mike "couldn't" that day so with some help from me we convinced him to finally carpool. The boys left work at 6:30 and some of our guests still hadn't arrived so I called Mike and asked if they could stop at the grocery store. They were in line and a couple people still hadn't made it to our house so Brittany called and needed a very specific  kind of feminine hygiene product, we figured that would buy us at least 15-20 more minutes! :D
I made the made the best homemade enchiladas and tortilla soup, I also picked up some Sprinkles cupcakes since those are Mike's favorite. The boys watched the Lakers game (ugh), played Rock Band, and finished with some Catch Phrase. I think Catch Phrase was definitely the funniest except it brought out some pretty competitive sides of people (cough cough, Reagan's a cheater).
Finally all the guests had arrived and the boys were on their way home. We all hid in the kitchen for his big arrival. I think we surprised him good. This is the second year in a row that I had a surprise party for him so I think we'll have to wait a few years before another, he's on to me now. I just love spoiling my wonderful husband! Thanks everyone or making this surprise party happen.

Memorial Day

We had so much fun at the beach with our friends and barbecuing. We had the Ballash's, Meyer's, Kimball's, and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law over. I love watching all the kids play together. We took Roman with us also. He loves to play football, smash ball, dig holes, and skim board.  Afterwards we barbecued at our house, man was I full! We had steak, shrimp kabobs, BBQ chicken, salad, watermelon, corn, and fruit.

While we were in Carmel we got Roman some Doggles! He looks so awesome! We need to find him a life vest so he can start surfing! He already likes skim boarding. There is a dog surfing competition in July that I want to enter him in. I am for sure the worst dog owner ever!
Apparently the beach is exhausting! The kids were just dropping left and right! Perry fell asleep on the couch at 6pm and Bentley was in bed right after him!
Daxton didn't play at the beach at all, just the walk to the beach was exhausting enough for him!
Little Noah's a beach baby!

This is Lauren Kimball, another one of Perry's girlfriends!
Greg and Roman just hanging out and skim boarding.

Most of the gang.

Mike dug a huge hole that Perry is standing in, not sitting, and him and Greg turned him into a merman which I was informed later that "it's not very rockstar to be a merman."

Bentley and Dax were kissing and he was playing with her hair! Bentley was showing him a little leg afterwards. I love her chubby little legs and so does Dax. Mike and Greg went snorkeling after while Brittany and I went shopping. Everyone was exhausted after such a fun day. We ended the night with a Bachlorette party! What a perfect day!
Thank you so much to all the men and women who have served our country. I am also thankful for your families and the sacrifices that they have made as well. Happy Memorial Day!

Carmel Valley

My mother-in-law came to watch my kids while my husband and I escaped for a long weekend in Carmel Valley for his birthday. We wanted to road trip it and here are a few pics of how we entertained ourselves with Twizzlers.

We went to the most amazing aquarium in Monterey.
This is in Point Lobos, at The Lone Cypress. We went on a lot of hikes and walks. It was so relaxing and peaceful, I had so much fun just being with my hubby out of the city. We saw a seal pup laying on the rocks, and 5 or 6 deer that were not afraid of us at all.

This is my favorite tree!

This is in Big Sur. I was so mad that the park was closed but we went on another trail that did have the Redwoods but they were the "little ones."
Mike loves to golf but never gives himself anytime to go (he's such a family man). So I took him golfing at Carmel Valley Ranch. It was pretty entertaining since he hasn't been in a year. We had to look for a lot of lost golf balls. I had tons of fun driving the golf cart and drinking hot chocolate along the way.
Can you believe that Mike told me I couldn't play golf in 5" heels! Clearly he doesn't know me well...and I'm his wife!
We drove home on PCH and along the way we saw a beach full of hundreds of Elephant Seals. They were really fascinating to watch and really ugly!

We stopped at Hearst Castle but couldn't make a tour. We saw the movie and I think it inspired my husband, I'm sure he thinks someday he will have his very own castle too. He's so silly.
I had so much fun with my hubby but was so excited to get home and see my posse! Thanks honey for such a memorable trip with you. Happy Birthday! Thanks Grama Jeamme for all your help, and watching the kids and Roman.

My Big Puppy

Roman goes to the dog park every Tuesday and Wednesday for a play date with Turbo, a Jack Russell Terrier. Roman tries to keep up with Turbo for about 10 minutes before he gets worn out, then Roman usually stands there while Turbo nibbles on him, once he finally gets tired of being a standing chew toy he throws Turbo to the ground and they wrestle for a while.  This picture just doesn't do justice in showing you how much of a difference in size there is between the two. Roman weighs about 70 lbs and Turbo weighs about 10. They play so well together. It's so nice to have someone else wear Roman out for the day. Thanks Turbo!

Field Trip

Today Perry and I went on a field trip with his class to the fire department and the police station. They got to see where the firefighters eat together, watch cartoons, excercise, and sleep. The captain had a Spiderman pillow and a Spongebob Blanket. All the kids thought that was very funny. They got to see the firepool and the lights that go off in their house when they get called out on an emergency!

.

Perry was so excited to put on a "firefighter costume!"
He even got to drive the truck!
Then we headed over to the Police Station. Our tour guide was very animated!
This sign is posted in the jail cell. Do they honestly think that their prisoners care?

We had a lot of fun! I was so glad that I got to go with my little buddy! I can't believe how big he is getting! He only has 3 more days of school and then he's finished his first year of school! They get big way to fast.
